What do you do when grief becomes your identity?
In Part 2 of JW’s story, we journey into the years following his father’s death—a 13-year cancer battle that ended suddenly, leaving behind a silence that echoed through every part of JW’s life. He speaks honestly about white-knuckling grief, trying to navigate pain without support, and the slow unraveling that came when sorrow met isolation.
But God wasn’t done. Through grief groups, intentional community, and moments of Spirit-led obedience, JW began to rediscover joy—not in the absence of pain, but in the presence of others who reminded him he wasn’t alone.
This is a powerful testimony of how grief, when surrendered to God, can be transformed into empathy, purpose, and healing. And how even in our lowest moments, Jesus still invites us to comfort others with the comfort we ourselves have received.
Grief doesn’t have to define you. It can refine you.
